The firststep in planning your voyage is to select a destination. TheBahamas and Caribbean are popular destinations for yachtcharters. Several companies in Miami and Fort Lauderdale offerships for trips to these destinations.
An Overview of a Bareboat Charter
Once you have decided on a destination, you will need to choosea boat. The charter company or broker will send you brochures, pictures and descriptions of boats. Once you have chosen aboat, you sign a contract and pay a deposit to reserve yourtrip. Read the contract carefully. It will contain informationon:
o Liability insurance o Cancellation policy o What is included in your charter o Security deposit o What to do if you experience a problem with the boat
Read the information carefully and ask questions about anythingthat isn’t clear or that you don’t understand.
In most cases, you are paying only for the boat. You and yourcrew will be responsible for sailing the boat on your voyage. If you aren’t qualified, you will need to hire a skipper. Thecharter company can help you with this. You will be responsiblefor fuel, taxes and port fees. In addition, you will need toprovide food and other supplies. You will need to arrangetravel and hotel reservations. Some companies work with atravel agent that can help you with this and often get you abetter rate.
The size and age of the boat determine the cost. If you aretravelling with several friends, family members or othercouples, you can split the cost. This is a great way to enjoy aluxury vacation at a reasonable cost. With your co travellers, you will need to set an itinerary for your trip. Decide whatactivities you are interested in, and the sights you want tosee. The charter company will help you set an itinerary thatwill include something for everyone in your group.
Requirements
You will need to prove that you are qualified to handle theship you intend to rent. You will be asked for your sailingresume, which details your experience. Some companies require aBareboat Sailing Certificate. Prior to departure, a skipper willtake you out on a short cruise for you to demonstrate yourskills. This allows them to be sure of your ability and givesyou a chance to get comfortable with the sailboat or motoryacht. If the skipper is not convinced of your skill, you willneed to hire a skipper for the voyage. This can cost up to $200per day.
Choosing a Charter Company
You can charter either directly with the charter company orwork with a charter broker. A broker works with several chartercompanies worldwide. The fee is paid by the charter company. Thebenefit of a broker is they have access to more boats and may bebetter able to find the perfect boat for your needs, and to fityour budget.
Good brokers are familiar with all the boats they broker. Youwill be sent pictures, brochures and descriptions of each boatto help you make a decision. Ask about the age and condition ofeach boat. The newer the boat, the higher the price you will payfor your vacation. A five year old boat will be less expensive, but if it is well maintained, can give you a great trip at alower cost.
Whether you are using a broker or a charter company, choose anorganization that has been in business for a long time. Checkwith the Better Business Bureau for information on companiesoperating in the United States. Ask for references from peoplewho have used the company or broker in the past. Your trip is abig investment and you want to be sure you are making the bestchoice.
About the Author: Ciara McNamara reveals many news to theinformation source athttp://www.luxury-yacht-charters-guide.com. There isnever a dull moment in this city that literally never sleeps, especially in the summer months. Barcelona is studded with theunmistakable modernism of Antoni Gaudi, who single-handedlylanded the city on the architectural map. A stroll down thegrand avenue Passeig de Gracia will take you directly in frontof both Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, which are incredible featsof art and design and fully accessible to the public. Makereservations to have cocktails and watch the sun set on theAlice In Wonderland-like rooftop of Casa Mila (only availablefor the summer season). Wind your way through the narrowpassages of the Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of town, untilyou find the overwhelming and unmistakable Gothic Cathedral(just remember to watch your pockets!).
Just an hour north of Barcelona in the town of Figueres isNorthern Spain's most interesting and unique museum. The Dalimuseum is so extraordinary because it was designed andconstructed by the artist himself and the collection of hisworks is unsurpassed anywhere else in the world. The coastlinenorth of Barcelona, extending to the French border, is known asthe Costa Brava and is one of the Mediterranean's most exclusiveand beautiful vacation destinations. Additionally, Catalonia'scountryside is spotted with superb Spanish wine vineyards andolive groves. Once you fall in love with Barcelona, it will beextremely difficult to leave; however, there are a few othergems in the north to explore in order to have really traveledSpain.
San Sebastian (Donostia)
A blend of cosmopolitan chic and sophisticated resort town, SanSebastian offers all the luxuries of a big city while providingthe Atlantic coastline with its most popular beach getaway. SanSebastian, the heart and soul of the Basque region, is widelyknown for its world-class restaurants and irresistible tapasbars; its location just south of the French border has added aunique flare to the culture and cuisine found nowhere else inSpain. Just a short bus ride inland takes you to Bilbao, homeof Frank O. Gehry's spectacular architectural triumph, theGuggenheim Museum. This is one stop that must be made when youtravel Spain!
Pamplona
The captivating words of Hemmingway and the dangerous art ofbull running are inescapable symbols of this historic township.Another cultural staple of the Basque region, Pamplona should bea stop on as you travel Spain in July when La Fiesta de SanFermin (The Running of the Bulls) takes place over 14 days. Thepopulation of 250,000 explodes to over 1 million, so reserve aplace to stay early or simply do what the locals do: eat, drinkand dance in the streets until the sun comes up and the bullsbegin to run!
Months would be needed to travel Spain's diverse cultures anddistinct regions. With more limited time, these fascinatingdestinations provide an intimate window into the authenticSpanish way of life.
About the Author: For more information on travel to Spain andother destinations in Europe, and discount airfare to Spain, visit http://www.cfares.com.

Site map

http://adventure-travel-blog.blogspot.com/2006/04/best-international-beaches-guide.html
http://adventure-travel-blog.blogspot.com/2006/04/cultural-visit-on-mount-kilimanjaro.html
http://adventure-travel-blog.blogspot.com/2006/04/travelling-light-how-to-pack-light.html
http://adventure-travel-blog.blogspot.com/2006/04/have-fun-while-having-car-travel.html
http://adventure-travel-blog.blogspot.com/2006/04/mountain-cabin-vacations.html
http://adventure-travel-blog.blogspot.com/2006/03/advantages-of-flying-using-air.html

Best International Beaches Guide

Best International Beaches Guide By Mansi Aggarwal
Vacationing at beach is like heaven or earth for all the aqualovers and fans. Apart from this the nightlifeof Dublin has always entertained its tourists to best andfullest.
2. The Irish Midlands are known by way of bifurcation intovarious provinces or counties. These counties are individuallyfamous for some or the other attraction. For instance CountyCavan has got recognition due to the River Shanon that flowstowards its south, the Killygeen forests and the fascinatingactivities like fishing, horseback riding and hiking etc. inthere. While the County Offaly is popular for its superbscience center and ravishing plant and animal life.
3. Moving on to the Northern Ireland region, what is mostwelcoming here is the capital city of Belfast. Belfast is seenterms of its directions i.e. north, east, west and southBelfast. All the areas have respective allures. If southBelfast has beautiful Belfast gardens and the famous UlsterMuseum, the north Belfast has amazing Neolithic caves in theCave Hill Country Park and the Belfast zoo. Besides Belfast, there are several other counties of Northern Ireland regionthat have always gained tourist attention.
4. South Ireland area is again a combination of differentcounties. County Mayo here is a land of lakes and cliffs. Thiscounty has some remarkable historical sites that are often asource of information. The County Clarke of this region hasmultiple lures. There is fishing, boating, mind-bogglingstalamites and stalactites in the caves of cliff of Moher, dance, music and theater. The Bunratty Folk Park adds to theamusement sources of this place.
5. Similarly there are other provinces like NorthwesternCounty, which again is subdivided in a number of othercounties, Southeastern and Southwestern Counties that too aresectioned in numerous counties.
Finally, Ireland is not just a destination for the rich.Accommodation and other facilities are available for allclasses of people. A holiday to Ireland with planned budget canbe a dream come true for many people.
About the Author: Mansi aggarwal writes about Ireland travelLearn more at http://www.irelandtravelling.com

Maui Vacation Resorts - Which Do You Choose?

Maui Vacation Resorts - Which Do You Choose? It received its name due to the Latin "TerraAustralis Incognita" – “Southern unknown land”. Australia isthe only country occupying the whole continent. Here you cansee the super modern metropolises, the driest deserts, the bestbeaches, coral reefs and much more.
Australian cities differ much from the cities in Europe. Theylook more like the American ones, but still have their ownappearance. There are no ancient attractions; it’s a kingdom ofglass, steel, modern buildings and comfortable roads.
Sydney is the largest city in Australia and the administrativecentre of the New South Wales province. It is the mostdeveloped Australian city, the financial and industrialcapital. The original Sydney Opera is not only an architecturalsightseeing but the leading country’s stage too. Another Sydneysymbol is The Harbour Bridge. The tourist centre in Sydney isDarling Harbour with exhibition centers, shops, restaurants andcafes.
Melbourne is the second biggest city and the centre of Victoriaprovince. It has been always struggling with Sydney for the nameof Australian cultural capital. Sydney is famous for its Opera,Melbourne – for its ballet. As one of the sport leading citiesin the county Melbourne houses the Australian open (tennis) andone of the stages of Formula-1 Grand Prix. Melbourne is a greencity with cozy streets and houses. One of the things Melbourneis associated with is tram. It is a very popular man oftransport and on of the city symbols.
The capital of Australia, Canberra is a relatively small city. It’s the city of politicians and bureaucrats, but there is alot more in Canberra. Historic attractions include Captain CookMemorial Water Jet; New Parliament House; Old Parliament House;Telstra Tower; St. Christopher's Cathedral; the NationalArchives of Australia; the National Library of Australia; andCanberra's Royal Australian Mint.
Another significant city in Australia is Adelaide, the capitalof South Australia. It lies on the coast and hasvery good beaches.
All the Australian coasts are famous for its beautiful beaches, but the Gold Coast is the most famous one. It is an ideal choicefor those who like sun, sand, relaxed lifestyle and surfing. It’s a very comfortable place with good hotels and otheraccommodation.
This paradise strongly differs from the rough deserts in themiddle of the country. This part of the Australia is mainlyinhabited by the aborigines. There are no good roads, bigcities or any comfort at all. There are farms, sands and mines. This territory has its own charm too, but you should know whatto be prepared to.
Australia is separated from the other parts of the world, thusits nature is really unique. I would urge you to consider this as a way of gettingto know Tanzania, being able to afford an extended time hereand also helping in the communities of Northern Tanzania.
About the Author: For a more information on Cultural Tourismand Home-Stays in Tanzania contact Ian Williamson throughhttp://www.betheladventure.co.uk or Using responsible tourismto change lives

Hurricane Season Travel: Beating The Odds

Hurricane Season Travel: Beating The Odds By Jennifer Smith
Recent months have brought a large number of damaginghurricanes across the Caribbean Sea, and have drawn attentionto the tropics from around the world. Still, many travelerschoose to visit the Caribbean and surrounding areas duringthese months. While some travelers may find it surprising, there are many reasons why vacationers choose to travel duringthe Hurricane Season.
Know the Facts
Much of the year – June through November – makes up what isconsidered to be Hurricane Season in the Atlantic. Tropicalstorms can change into fast-moving storm systems that canseverely damage property if they reach land during this time ofyear.
However, it's important to remember that that not every stormmakes landfall, and not every strong storm turns into ahurricane. Tropical storms and even tropical depressions canmake landfall and cause tornadoes and flooding problems aswell, but are far less severe than hurricanes.
The later months of hurricane season typically bring thestrongest storms. September and October, for example, see arise in the number and intensity of such storms, while damagingstrikes are rare in the early months of the season.
Why Travel Off-Season?
Although hurricanes can certainly deter some from tropicaltravel, many vacationers choose to take their chances.Travelers have little to worry about most years, and taking agamble can be worth the relaxation of a tropical vacation.
Most often mentioned of all of the off-season vacation benefitsis cost. Travel during the hurricane season often includes thebenefit of extremely low-cost vacationing. Hotels can sometimeseven cut rates in half, and tour operators, airlines, and rentalcompanies often follow suit.
With children on break from school in June, July, and August, the beginning of hurricane season can be the perfect time for afamily vacation. And, of course, travel in the early portion ofthe hurricane season reduces the chances of being affected bystorms.
Travelers looking to avoid crowds during their island travelswill find off-season vacationing a breath of fresh air. Whilethere may be reduced hours at some island attractions, travelers who prefer a little more space on the beach may notmind abbreviated hours.
Place Particulars
If you'd like to travel during the hurricane season, there areseveral ways to eliminate some of the danger. Prepare for theworst by checking out the hurricane policy of the hotel youchoose to book. Many hotels, especially those in often-effectedareas, have hurricane policies offering complimentary stays forthe same number of nights the following year, or they may offerother similar plans to help ease the sting of a disruptedvacation.
Another way to minimize the danger is to choose yourdestination wisely. The southern Caribbean usually avoids thebrunt of hurricane season. In fact, there is a "hurricane zone"through which most of these tropical storms pass. Islandsoutside this zone are hit much less frequently.
The best-known of these hurricane-avoiding islands are the"ABC" Islands. Dutch territories Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçaoare located just north of the coast of Venezuela, and eachoffer Caribbean flair without the tropical danger.
So, even with so many hurricanes causing trouble in theCaribbean, it is a sure thing that vacationers will be backduring hurricane season next year. With so many benefits, whynot?
About the Author: Jennifer Smith writes forhttp://VirginIslands-Guide.info, http://Grenada-Guide.info, andother Segisys travel Web sites. © 2005, Interactive InternetWebsites, Inc.

Carrying Through: Customs Tips For Caribbean Travelers

Carrying Through: Customs Tips For Caribbean Travelers By Jennifer Smith
With so many great souvenirs found throughout the islands, it'sno wonder Caribbean travelers are often curious about passingthrough customs. The question many travelers ask is how tobring these purchased items back into their home country. Witha little knowledge, and the right paperwork, passing throughcustoms can be easier than you think.
Each Caribbean island is different, so you'll find plenty ofvariations in the laws you'll find throughout the region. Eachisland will also have its own popular native goods as well.Knowing which items are permitted to be brought out of thecountry and which are not will protect you from additional feesor lost goods.
Leaving Town
When leaving home to enter the Caribbean, some travelers chooseto document their prior possessions, particularly big-ticketitems like laptops, registering them with a Certificate ofRegistration or similar form available through your homecustoms office. Make a note of serial numbers and otherpermanent markings on such forms to keep customs agents frombeing concerned about your personal items.
If you are in need of prescription medication, bring yourdoctor's prescription with you while you travel. This will helpensure an easy stop through customs and can also help if youaccidentally lose your medication during your trip. However, remember that the many so-called “recreational” drugs areusually illegal throughout the Caribbean as well, and travelingwith them is not permitted.
Return Trip
Going through customs on the way home can be equally taxing, soyou may want to remember to bring important items, such asreceipts. Whenever you receive receipts for souvenir purchases, keep them. They can be especially helpful when passing throughcustoms.
Native goods may include perishables, such as cigars, liquor, and coffee. Hot sauces are also popular on some islands, andthe quantity of these goods you may bring home is usuallylimited by your home country. However, goods are mostly limitedby a monetary amount, after which point they may be taxed. So ifyou're looking to pick up duty-free goods, be especially carefulof the upper limits allowed back into the country.
When returning home, U.S. citizens should plan to bring alongno more than $800(USD) in merchandise from most Caribbeancountries. American vacationers returning to the mainland fromthe U.S. Virgin Islands may bring in twice the amount of goods.Remember, you can often mail souvenirs and other items home, oryou may even mail your own personal items that you won't needimmediately when you return, which can help you save space forpacking.
So if you're looking for sure-fire ways to pass easily throughcustoms, know the rules before you go. Don't forget to bringand keep any paperwork that will account for your belongingsduring your journey. With these rules in mind, passing throughcustoms from the Caribbean should be a breeze.
About the Author: Jennifer Smith writes forhttp://Aruba-Guide.info, http://CaymanIslands-Guide.info, andother Segisys travel Web sites. © 2005, Interactive InternetWebsites, Inc. The siteof “Castles in the Sand” was the then small town and fishingvillage of Essaouira on Morocco’s Atlantic Coast. The town hasgrown a lot in the intervening 35 years. It is relatively closeto the capital Casablanca, built around a busy fishing port.Ironically Essaouira was one of only two ports in Morocco thatwere entitled to trade with Europe, and so in the past it hadheld a much more important role in Moroccan affairs than itdoes today. As a trading port founded by the Portuguese in theeighteenth century it lured business and business people tocome and work within its confines. In fact the British held animportant foothold there. However, with the growth of theFrench protectorate, Casablanca was favored and in the earlytwentieth century, and Essaouira fell into disrepair.
Today the fishing port is surrounded by whitewashed two storiedbuildings with traditional blue shutters. Its sandy beaches areuncluttered and for the most part empty of high-density touristtraffic. Beyond the beaches are row upon row of rolling dunes. These dunes provide ideal shelter because Essaouira is a windyplace and that is part of its charm! Because this town, whichthe Portuguese named Mogador is a wind surfer’s paradise, somuch so that I plays host to several international windsurfingcompetitions. But there’s more, if there’s wind there isgenerally surf as well. Yes, Essaouira is also a surfer’sheaven, and they come from all around and even further afieldto catch rides on some big breakers.
Another feature of this remarkable Moroccan town is the GnawasFestival, which is probably the event that attracted JimiHendrix to the region. The Gnawas comprise a traditional groupof singers and musicians. They are black because they come froma slave heritage and this has greatly influenced their musicthat has a heavy trance-inducing beat. The Gnawas Festivaltakes place in June each year and draws people from all overthe world.
Essaouira offers a grand selection of hotels and guest housesto cater for all pockets and tastes. For example for somethingrather different, “Dar Liouba” is a gem of a place. This smallguest house is a former Imam’s residence which has beenre-designed by a Russian Furnisher and a French Chinese Jewelrydesigner to be come a sophisticated hostelry filled with lushgreen plants and traditional carved cedar wood, but if that’snot to your taste there is a lot more accommodation to choosefrom.
Interested in this subject? How To Plan For The Unexpected

Planning A Trip? How To Plan For The Unexpected By Rita R. Powers
Have you ever taken a trip where it seemed that everything wentwrong? What should have been a care free, relaxing vacation oran efficient business trip quickly turns into a stress-fillednightmare. No one likes to dwell on the negative, but the oldsaying “hope for the best, and plan for the worst” has a lot oftruth to it. Many things can go wrong and planning ahead willhelp you avoid unwanted drama, stress and hassles. Traveldelays or accidents, hidden fees and costs, lost or delayedluggage, medical or dental emergencies, travel accidents, rental car damage, potential terrorist attack alerts, emergencyassistance problems, identity theft and more are common problemsthat can, and most likely, will occur on some occasion duringtrip taking. In hindsight could most of the hassles on thattrip have been prevented or made more bearable by planning forthe unexpected? Here are some tips for doing just that.
1. Start planning your trip early. Four to six weeks before youdepart is not too early to start planning. If you are purchasinga comprehensive or all-inclusive package, make sure you researchthe agency you are dealing with. Some offer packages thatguarantee no surprise up-charges or add-ons. If you don’tunderstand their policies or package rates, make them explainit to you until you do understand it. Asking the rightquestions beforehand can eliminate disappointment overunrealized expectations. Know what you are getting for yourmoney. Never assume that what you think you are hearing isfactual until it is fully explained and you see it guaranteedin writing. If you are planning a business trip on shortnotice, use an agency that you trust, or one that you considerreputable. If short notice trips are normal for you, or if youknow that travel could be required on short notice due to anemergency situation, keep a bag packed in your closet with thethings you consider basic necessities. Include at least onecomplete change of clothes, and necessary toiletries. Alsoinclude a small amount of your regular medication, ifapplicable, and important account numbers and phone numbers. Ifpacking space is at a premium, purchase sample size toiletriesto keep in your “short notice” bag. Make sure it is of carry-onsize for airline travel. This will take some stress off in theevent that plans must be made quickly. If your luggage is lostor delayed, you will be glad you took the time to pack yourcarry-on bag in this manner.
2. Research your trip thoroughly. The Internet is a good choicefor doing this. To get the best deals and the bestaccommodations to suit your preferences, there is no substitutefor being informed and fully aware of what is available. In theinformation age, there are huge amounts of travel informationavailable on the World Wide Web. Tickets, and even permits, insome cases, can be printed on your home computer printer fromthe Internet. Rental car reservations, hotel reservations aremade easy for convenient prices and quality comparisonson-line.
3. Plan for the unexpected: Troubles can occur when you leastanticipate them, so take along some peace of mind and protectyour trip investment by purchasing travel insurance. Make surethe travel insurance you purchase covers job loss or transfers, uninhabitable accommodations, emergency assistance, travelaccidents, delays, lost or delayed luggage, weather-affectedcancellation, medical and dental expenses, terrorism, andidentity theft. In addition, plans should offer flexiblecoverage periods for pre-existing medical conditions. Choose acompany that answers all calls with a live person, not anautomated attendant. Confirm all your purchases andreservations at a later time either on the Web or by phone toensure no glitches have occurred.
4. Make sure you will have all the arrangements and paperworkyou'll need- airline tickets, passports, visas, maps, rentalcar and hotel reservations, permits as well as health andtravel insurance documentation. Some travel insurance companieslike ours provide a confirmation letter and "traveler hotlinecards" to policy holders with critical phone numbers andcontact information. Carry enough cash for emergencies, phonecalls or unexpected fees. Don’t carry large amounts of cash.Traveler’s checks and credit cards are a better alternative.Make a list of all the pertinent numbers of your credit card, driver’s license, visas, passport, ticket, reservation, prescriptions and any other important documentation. Includeany emergency phone numbers to call if any of these items arelost or stolen. Put a copy of this list in your carry-on, andcarry the other one on your person. Have someone you trustwatch your home or apartment, or house-sit while you are away.Think about the things that need to be done in your absence-watching and feeding your pets, watering your plants, etc. Ifyou don’t have a house/pet-sitter, have a light left on insideyour residence so it would appear that someone is home atnight. If you have someone checking up on things periodically, have them rotate the lighting and retrieve your mail and yournewspapers. Another option to this is to have your newspaperand mail delivery temporarily suspended. You can also put yourlighting on inexpensive timers, which can closely imitate yournormal lighting routines.
5. Write out an itinerary- before you head out the door, givesomeone you know and trust a written copy of your trip plans. This should include: Your estimated time of departure, mode oftransportation (flight numbers and/or make, model and licenseplate numbers), the names, addresses and phone numbers(especially cell phone numbers) of all group members traveling, any relevant medical conditions that may affect you or yourtravelling companions. Also include your travel insurancepolicy names, numbers and beneficiary information, your hotels’phone number and address and expected time of arrival, time ofreturn, and all pertinent return travel information. Makearrangements to contact the person holding your itinerary atspecific intervals during the trip, and then again when yourtrip is over. Agree with your contact person on a procedure forcontacting the authorities if you do not report in by a certaintime. This can be especially important when traveling inhigh-risk areas of the world, or even anywhere outside theUnited States. In some cases, if you have a pet and choose tohire a reputable pet-sitter or house-sitter, this can be yourcontact person.
In short, the quality of your trip depends largely on properplanning for the unexpected. Most of us like to think thatthings will come off without a hitch, but the truth is thateven with the best of planning, things can, and will go wrongfrom time to time. Planning early, thorough research, doublechecking arrangements, coverage and documentation, and writingout an itinerary may not completely dispel unexpected problems, but it does produce a peace of mind and assurance knowing thatthere is a plan in place to deal with the unexpected if it doescome about.
About the Author: This article was written by Rita R. Sure, it takes more effort
to save money on the road, but when you are a hard working gal
with dreams of hoofing it across continents, sometimes those
pennies saved can mean the difference between out on the road
or broke at home. Here are a few tips to help you get the most
for less while your seeing the world.

Get that AAA membership. It may sound like something your mom
would tell you to do, but it's worth every penny. For about $45
a year, you get free help if your car breaks down and serious
discounts on hotels, motels and museums. You even get a
discount on Amtrak. I recently took my mom to the beach, and
the cash my AAA card saved me on hotels for that one trip more
than paid for the membership fee.

Bring a friend. Not only is it safer and more fun to travel
with a friend, it’s cheaper. You can split the cost of gas and
hotels, making travel almost half the price of going solo.

Food Smarts. Eating out costs a pretty penny. If you’re going
to eat out, do lunch then eat dinner in your hotel room. Lunch
is always cheaper. When you go out, ask around and find out
where the locals eat, or look for mom and pop diners or ethnic
neighborhoods full of authentic and inexpensive cuisine.

Buy bottles of water and snacks at the local grocery store
before heading out to sightsee. The same stuff will cost you
half as much as it will in tourist areas or convenience stores.
You may want to keep a handy dandy cooler packed with sodas,
water and fruits in your car. Fill it up with treats before you
hit the road and just refill the ice from the hotel ice machine.

The best food is often local food. Locate the farmer's market
and the local bakeries. Stop at the bakery for some bread, then
stop by the farmer's market for fresh veggies and cheese and
soon you'll have the fixins for a healthy, fresh lunch for much
less than the cost of eating in a restaurant.

Hotels/motels. If you can, stop by a truck stop or travel
center on your way into town. They always have racks of free
coupon magazines that can save you a few on accommodations. And
they usually contain a map of the area too.

At Roomsavers.com, you can also download coupons for hotels. Of
course, traveling during the week instead of on weekends will
save you on your hotel bill, too.

If you decide to stay in the locally owned, non-chain motel (
which will usually be a better deal) ask to see the room before
you pay for it. You don’t want to stay somewhere too icky or
unsafe just to save a few bucks. When you do find a place, work
that AAA discount.

Remember there’s always a hostel. Hostels are almost always the
cheapest way to go for single travelers. Sometimes it can be
cheaper than a motel for two people.

Another new option is house swapping. If you live in a
reasonably interesting place, chances are pretty good you can
trade apartments with someone in another city for a week or
two. Check Craigslist or one of the many house-swapping
organizations for more information and to see if it's right for
you.

And if you have tent, will travel. You can park your tent on a
spot with water and electricity for as little as $10 a night.
Throw an air mattress in there and you can camp like a queen!

There are usually state parks, private campgrounds and national
parks with camp sites near most major cities and along major
highways, making them a convenient lodging option. Many parks
have cabins with kitchenettes, where you can sleep up to eight
people for as little as $20 a night.

Travel during the off times

The best way to stretch your travel dollar is to travel during
off-peak times. That means when schools are in session and not
during three day holiday weekends, when the legions of people
tied to 9 to 5 jobs maximize vacation days.

You’ll always get a better deal if you travel during the week,
not on weekends, or during a city’s slow tourism season. For
instance, the beach will be cheaper in May and September than
June through August. New Orleans and Las Vegas are cheaper
during the summer because their high season is winter.

Remember, hotels raise their rates on Friday and Saturday
nights. Some rates nearly double. Travel Sunday to Thursday if
you can. You’ll save serious money on lodging. You’ll also
avoid long lines and crowds at local attractions, and maybe
save a few cents a gallon on gasoline.

Summer is universally the peak season, and prices for rooms,
shows, gas, airfare and just about everything else are higher
from May through August. If you can travel from September to
April, you’ll save a lot more money. If you’re considering a
European trip, you’ll cut your airfare in half and will have
your pick of inexpensive lodging, entertainment and
transportation.

Book early

In most cases, you can get primo rates and first pick when you
book early and you're more likely to lock in the best airfare
and hotel rates. You also may have the option of putting down a
deposit and paying your trip off in installments instead of
putting it on a credit card and paying interest.

Use the Web

Many times, booking rental cars, hotel rooms and airline
flights on the Web, directly through the hotels or airline's
Web sites will net you the best deal. Always try to book
directly first, rather than through a broker, then try
Priceline , Travelocity or Orbitz to see which has the best
deal. You may also try your hand at BiddingforTravel.com, a
Priceline message board designed to help you get the best
possible deals for travel.

About the Author: Denise Trowbridge is an award-winning
journalist residing in Ohio. By Stefano Sandano
Eating and drinking in Rome restaurants.
Rome is not only the capital of Italy but also of the region ofLazio, which is famous for its food. Robust flavours and richsauces abound in many typical dishes of the area, and pasta andgnocchi in all their many forms ( especially fettucine ) areserved in restaurants across Rome city.
Lazio is notable for dishes featuring milk-fed lamb(abbacchio), veal (vitello), Parma ham (saltimbocca), thin-cutsteak and offal, all of which are served with delicious herbsand seasonings. Best fish choices in Rome include sea bass(spigola), fried cod (baccalà), bream (orata) and turbot(rombo). Artichokes (carciofi) are scattered all over menusthrough the winter, before spring heralds the vignarola - atasty blend of peas, fava beans, and artichokes served withcured pork cheek. Fried sweetbreads are also a Romanspeciality.
Rome is rich in markets and this is often reflected in thewonderful variety of superb vegetables served in the city'srestaurants. Beans are used a good deal in the cuisine andappear in many dishes, hot and cold. On a cool winter's day thevisitor seeking a warming lunch could do no better than tochoose a tasty minestrone soup, which is another of the area'sspecialities.
Standard ‘tourist menus’ generally offer good value, beginningwith bread and olive oil with soup or pasta; a simple meat orfish dish with vegetables (contorni) for secondi; and cheese orfresh fruit to finish; accompanied by a carafe of locallyproduced Frascati white or red wine from Tuscany. As a rule, main dishes do not come with vegetables, which are orderedseparately.
Whether you are dining in a no-frills trattorie or a moreformal ristorante, owners and chefs invariably take pride insourcing the best seasonal produce. Vegetarians can expect mostfirst (primi) pasta courses to be meat-free; other choicesinclude a seasonal vegetable 'fritto misto' ('mixed fried') orside dish combo, the verdure miste ('mixed green'). Kosherchoices are limited because of the prevalence of meat andcheese, particularly pork.
As elsewhere in Italy, pizza remains a popular staple food forthe restaurant and the street, and the Roman version is ahybrid between the thick crust, rustic Neopolitan variety andthe thinner, more fancy Northern version. Away from the maintourist areas, most restaurants only serve pizza at dinnertime.
The neighbourhoods of Trastevere, San Lorenzo and Testaccio areknown for offering reasonably priced, authentic Roman cuisine;whilst restaurants around Campo de'Fiori and Piazza Navona arepleasurable places to dine, with musicians on hand toentertain.
Virtually every bar and dining establishment in Rome will offerfirst-rate filter coffee; Italians regard frothy cappuccinos asa morning drink and rarely a post-prandial treat, when thepick-me-up expresso or macchiato is preferred. Ice creams aresensational, creamy gelato and refreshing granita (sorbets)come in a host of enticing flavours, such as coffee, coconut, liquorice or sour cherry, that are lovingly prepared for anincomparable all-day dessert.
If one to write of Rome and omit mention of its gustatorydelights the whole world would protest, because in Rome eatingis an art and cooking a science, and he who does not know notwhat Rome provides knows neither art nor science.
About the Author: Stefano Sandano is an archaeologist of Romeand is the owner of the website http://www.secchiorestaurant.itwhere you can find more informations about tips and tricks forpeople eating and drinking in the restaurants of Rome.

The Motherland Of Tango

The Motherland Of Tango By Constance Blair
Argentina is the second biggest country on the continent andone of the most powerful. What a fantastic combination if you can get all thattogether. Just take out your map of the Iberian Peninsula whichwill show you Spain and Portugal, go to the Mediterranean Seaand look for Alicante. Now go down the coast to the south andfind the villa of Pilar del Honradada, now start running yourfinger up to Torrevieja, going through Alicante city, toBenidorm, Altea, Calpe, Moraira and Javea with the last pointin Denia. Well, all of this is yours to explore when you saythat you want some Costa Blanca holidays.
Now that you have an idea of what villas you can visit, let’sstart making plans. Firstly, the majority of the people choosesummer for their vacation time, which is great, but you willneed to book your flight in advance. There are a lot ofscheduled economy flights when flying in from another Europeandestination. England is one of the countries which has the mostamount of flights in as much as frequency year round, airportavailability with a lot of open timetables and very low prices.Between Alicante and Valencia, both serving the Costa Blanca asthey are almost the same distance away, your travel optionswill be plentiful. As far as getting around, if your budgetpermits, a rent a car would be quite nice, if not, then thereare many buses, trains or taxis making trips to and from theairports and major bus and train stations, connecting all thevillas along the Costa Blanca.
Nature Calls
Tradition, culture and landmarks is what differentiates oneplace from another even though they are neighbouring towns.Javea for example shares with Denia the Natural Park of Montgo,a solid massif right on the coastal line. Just the fact that theside facing the sea acts as a huge windsheild, blocking themarine winds and humidity, it does not have the same vegetationas the west side which is treated with warmer and drier breezes. Therefore, in order to appreciate the more than 600 differentkinds of flora, you must make a complete circle round it. Ondoing this, you will also come across different fauna like theyellowed-legged seagull, eagles and royal owls. If that werenot enough, there are also archaeological remains which areunder study and that is probably one of the main reasons forthis area to have been declared a World Heritage. But Javea isalso curious because it has kept up many of its originaltradition like the ball game, similiar to tennis but played ina very primitive way. There are no courts, just the streets, the ball is made with cloth, compactly held together withstring and more cloth, their hands are used as paddles and thespectators are the judges or referees. At the weekends thereare usually a few games going on so feel free to sit on thecurb and participate. And if that is not thrilling enough, thenplan your holiday when Javea is celebrating its patron saint inthe summer. This is usually a week long festivity whichincludes bullfighting in the streets.
After this stay, it would be relaxing to just lay around on thebeaches in Moraira or Calpe, sip some sangria made with goodSpanish wine and feast out on fresh seafood, most of which youhave never seen so close up or have probably ever tried. InCalpe, there is another treat for the nature lover’s- the Rockof Ifach, a small roky peninsula joined to land by an isthmusright in front of Calpe. Among the fauna you will seecormorants and hawks of all kinds and of course a completelydifferent vegetation from other areas. The sea in Calpe isusually crystal clear, letting you see red corral, sea spongesand the sea anemone. Now onto Altea, an old fishing villagewhich has grown considerably thanks to the amount of touristsand foreigners looking for a second residence. The villa ofAltea is surrounded by various mountain ranges making thegeneral view from almost anywhere nearby a special combinationof a mountain backdrop and the sea. The waters are usuallyquite calm although the beaches are pebbly. They have a nicefestive air when celebrating their Moorish tradition in April,a great firework display in early July and the local honouringof their patron Saint Ann in August. Cannot ever be boredthere!
Other Kinds of Fun Parks around the Costa Blanca
Now your travel has taken you to Benidorm, which if we stretchour Spanish into English, it could mean ‘sleep well’. As thatis what you will probably do after a long day of boat rides, skiing classes or theme park activities. You can go on allkinds of thrilling and daring rides, be they on dry land orgoing down long watershoots or hang out with the wildlife andthen go for a splash in the same park or prfer completely dryland and smell the aromas in an area filled with exotic plantsand birds. Alicante is just a stone’s throw away from Benidorm( http://www.alicante-spain.com/benidorm.html ), and this cityis where you can get a good dose of Spanish culture with itsinnumerous museums, cathedrals and castles. If you choose lateJune, you eyes will be amazed with when seeing the huge cartonfigures that are set up in the streets, beautiful girlselegantly dressed in the typical Alicantinian dresses and thepartying in the streets until late hours of the night. ut thenagain, you can change atmospheres and sprawl out on the beachesin Torrevieja before ending you wonderful holiday in the CostaBlanca.
About the Author: Ciara McNamara distributed many articles forhttp://www.alicante-spain.com an internet site on Costa Blancaand Spain information. Las Vegas, Spanish for 'TheMeadows', was originally discovered in 1829 by a party ofexplorers led by Antonio Armijo, a Mexican trader searching fora route to Los Angeles. Before the discovery of the valley theroute, Las Vegas was referred to as the 'journey of death'.However, exploration for water revealed an abundance of springsin the valley that reduced the journey by several days.
Las Vegas remained virtually unknown until 1844, when explorerJohn C. Fremont, made an entry in his travel log detailing howhis expedition camped at the springs. Nevertheless, it wasanother ten years before Las Vegas became a permanentsettlement for Mormon missionaries from Salt Lake City. Theybuilt a fort to create a mail stop between Los Angeles and SaltLake City, becoming the first non-Indian settlement to do so. Itwas also the Mormons' intention to teach farming to the PaiuteIndians. However, in 1857 this was abandoned when the Paiutesraided the fort and rejected their teachings.
In 1902, U.S. Senator William Clark from Montana bought therights to the Mormon settlement, along with water rights and2,000 acres of land. It was his intention to develop a town andhe managed to construct a railroad for steam locomotives.
The town was officially founded in 1905 and incorporated in1911 with a population of only 800. Initially strictanti-gambling laws governed the state of Nevada but this allchanged in 1931 when gambling was legalized throughout thestate of Nevada. That same year divorce laws were liberalizedin Nevada, making Las Vegas the place to obtain a divorce afteronly six weeks of residency.
It was after World War II that Las Vegas began to develop itsreputation of 'Sin City'. Hotels and casinos were developed andentertainment and tourism became the valley's largest employer.Accordingly, by the 1960s wealthy businessmen were beingattracted to the city. Billionaire Kirk Kerkorian was a majorplayer in developing the modern city; he bought the Flamingoand in 1968 opened the biggest hotel in the world, theInternational Hotel.
Now, a hundred years after its conception, Las Vegas is one ofthe largest cities of the 20th Century with a populationexceeding two million. Wonderful resorts are still beingcreated, all bigger and more luxurious than ever. Finally, LasVegas remains the strongest contender for the world's majorinternational tourist attraction.
This article is the property of http://www.casino-directory.ws. I know exactly that this feeling comes from therelaxed atmosphere that this part of Italy near Florence givesoff. I have found a perfect balance of enjoying the fascinatingcity of Florence and its cultural activities at the same time Irefurbish energy by either doing a farm holiday or staying in aluxury villa in the countryside of Tuscany.
Wallow in Luxury in Tuscany Italy
The words ‘luxury’ and ‘farm’ might scare you away, firstlybecause everyone associates luxury with expensive and farm withvery little comfort. Let me tell you of some fantastic placeswhere I have been and you will see how this is much moregratifying than staying at a hotel in the city centre.
The Fattoria il Lago farmhouse is found about 40 kilometresnorth-east of Florence, just outside the small town ofDicomano, hidden away in the olive tree covered Tuscanhillsides. The extensive property houses three areas which arereferred to as villages, each having apartment accommodationsand an entirely different landscape to admire. The main lodgingbuilding is called La Villa and has a pleasurable view of theDicomano Valley. Just a short walk away you find Lago villagewith its corresponding pool accompanied by a beautiful garden. The third area is the most quaint sleeping quarters calledMacerato, embedded among all the hues of green possible. Thiskind of vacation rental is as comfortable and reposeful as theluxury villas, only that you are sharing a common ground withother tourists.
